You can now view the trailer online over at Chiller-Diller. There's still no official release date for the movie, however Bloody-Disgusting.com is reporting that Dimension Films will be releasing the movie here in the US. You can also check out the international poster over at their site.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Shawn has signed on to 'The Ruins' (adapted from the best-selling Scott B. Smith novel) which is a "thriller about a group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when they accompany a fellow tourist on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins."

Per the IMDb Shawn plays 'Eric' and the film will be released in March 2008.

Filming begins in later this month in Queensland, Australia.

Update: It looks like Shawn presented in the Drama, Variety and Comedy Gala which, according to the site, airs November 18th at 6:00 pm EST in the Toronto, York region, Kitchener/Waterloo & Ottawa regions on Rogers Television. The category in which he was nominated for 'Terry' is part of the main Awards Gala to be aired November 4th.

Per a recent press release, the August 25th date is for a limited release in Los Angeles and New York, which is to be followed by platform rollout.

3 Needles Opening in US Theaters on World AIDS Day

The Director's Cut of 3 Needles will open in US theaters on Friday, December 1 in conjunction with World AIDS Day. The director's cut greatly expands the Canada section of the film that Shawn stars in with Stockard Channing.

According to Variety Shawn's newest movie is Solstice, a horror-thriller, which revolves around a young woman who gathers with her friends at a lake house for the summer solstice after the suicide of her twin sister.

According to Fangoria, 'Solstice' is a remake of Danish director Carsten Myllerup’s 2003 thriller 'Midsommer'. You can find out more about the movie (and read the director's blog) over at SolsticeTheMovie.com.

'3 Needles' US Premiere

According to Variety a director's cut version of '3 Needles' (which includes about 20 minutes of footage cut from the festival release) will premiere March 18th at NYC's Museum of Modern Art. Members of the cast will be hosting the screening.

However, according to MoMA, '3 Needles' will also be screening on March 16th.
